I have stayed in suites before, but this room surpassed any accommodations I have previously stayed at. When I got to my room, with my pup in tow, I opened the door and said. The lobby area was bright, warm, and quite inviting. Check-in time was only a few brief moments. The front desk staff was professional, kind, friendly and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised at what awaited me upon checking in. While I did not stay that evening, I made sure to try out the facility this year. While passing through Erie last year, I came across Home2. Stay away from here if you value your time and money, because both will be wasted through their utter incompetence and lack of honesty. Apparently their customer service (corporate and local) has significantly declined in the last few years. We have stayed in many of their hotels before with no problems at all. My advice is to pick one of those and make sure they are not one of the hotels "managed" by their sales manager! I assumed that the Hilton brand would have provided us with much better service than we received. My fiance and I decided that if this is the level of service we would receive while trying to simply give them out business, we could never subject our friends and family members to what would happen once they actually tried staying in the hotel! There are many other great hotels in this area to choose from. We were first told he was in charge of sales for two hotels, then three, and eventually FIVE other hotels. Apparently the sales manager is stretched WAY TOO THIN with the large number of other hotels he services to even responnd to a yes or no question via email on his smart phone. After two weeks of simply waiting for a yes or no answer about the 10 rooms at $114, several extremely unprofessional conversations with other staff members and a manager who told us he had nothing to do with booking rooms, we finally gave up. We then tried to call the corporate offices of Hilton which quoted us an even higher price for the rooms. Regardless, were never given the opportunity to communicate with her. I am not sure if it really was "impossible" to speak with her, or if most of the employees were just covering for each other, so as not to get any of their colleagues in trouble. However, when we tried again and again with different employess we were eventually told not to even bother contacting the regional manager because she was the MOTHER of the sales manager who repeatedly failed to call us back or give us a legitimate answer on the price or number of rooms we could book. We were told that we were getting a special discount "deal" on these rooms, but when we checked online at all the different discount hotel websites the prices of the rooms were all the same price or less! Since neither of the managers we spoke to at the hotels were able to help us or even return our phone calls and MULTIPLE messages left with the front desk, we finally asked to speak to the regional manager, but were repeatedly told that would be impossible because she was far too busy managing many other hotels to be able to help us. So 20 rooms at $99 a night then went to 10 rooms at $114 dollars a night. One week later, when the sales manager finally got back to us after many MANY phone calls and messages left with the front desk we were finally told that not only could we get just half the number of rooms we were expecting, but that the price would be higher than originally quoted. At first we were told we could have 20 rooms at $99 a night. Then they changed both the number of rooms and the cost that was quoted for us. The management never got back to us in less than a week every time we contacted them. We tried to book 20 rooms 7 months in advance of our wedding. We had a nightmare of a time trying to simply give this hotel our business.
